I sommer blir Fossekleiva kultursenter fylt med kropp.
I The fantastic life of Minnie Rubinski får publikum lov til å tre inn i hjernen til Minnie Rubinski. En hjerne med begynnende demens der grensene mellom virkelighet og fantasi er i ferd med å viskes ut. På flere skjermer spredt rundt i rommet blir ulike scener fra Rubinskis liv spilt ut, uten kronologi. Slik minner ofte kan dukke opp i oss helt plutselig uten sammenheng med tid og sted. Men minner kan også drive gjøn med oss. Hva er virkelig og hva er ikke? Og når alt kommer til alt, er det så viktig?
Installasjonen er intim og inviterer kun en liten gruppe inn av gangen. Minnene i livet til Rubinski iscenesettes av figurteater og musikk. Det er Vision Mechanics fra Edinburgh som består av Symon Macintyre og Kim Bergsagel som står bak installasjonen. Installasjonen er en hyllest til Kim Bergsagels mor, og reflekterer Kims opplevelse av at moren fikk demens.

4.4 STARS…….The characters are puppets, moving around custom-built sets, which
are presented in intricate detail – check out the sequence in a 1950s supermarket and
take a close look at the hundreds of items ranged on the shelves. The attention to detail
is astonishing!

world from giant reptiles – there’s a lot to take in during The Fantastic Life of Minnie
Rubinski, which translates the words and thoughts of one woman’s life, now living with
dementia, and turn these glinting pieces of their personality into a scale-filmed legacy,
utilising puppetry to craft an often surreal, though occasional mundane and domestic,
world for audiences to walk-through….
