Through The 4th Wall project development at Fossekleiva Kultursenter

We are excited to have Joy back to Fossekleiva this year to develop designs for wearable scenographies and extraordinary costume pieces representing imaginary landscapes.

In February 2020 Joy Haynes was a resident artist at Fossekleiva developing designs for puppet figures inspired by her research into the fairytale Rapunzel and that built on The Emotional Space & The Puppet R&D (2018), which investigated new performance and educational approaches working with Norwich Puppet Theatre, UK and Teatro Comunale, Italy.

During Covid-19 lockdowns 2020-21 she started a new creative journey with minimal digital experience, developing basic technical knowledge including: video capture, editing, broadcast platforms & live-stream. As part of an Arts Council England funded individual project Through The 4th Wall she has been exploring combining cinematography with the connectivity of live puppetry performance.

We are excited to have Joy back to Fossekleiva this year to develop designs for wearable scenographies – extraordinary costume pieces representing imaginary landscapes that extend and transform the physical presence of the puppeteer for live performance and film.
